Providence, RI (November 18, 2014)
Launched by the Highlander Institute and funded by The Learning Accelerator, Fuse RI was created to share, implement, evaluate, and scale blended learning by working with educators and districts across Rhode Island. This 3-year project promises to transform education for students and teachers. Districts spanning the state were selected in a competitive process for participation.
Districts participating in Fuse RI:
Blackstone Academy Charter School
Foster/Glocester and Glocester
Paul Cuffee Charter School
Fuse RI Districts will each receive about 100 hours of support from the Highlander Institute and be assigned 2 Fuse Fellows from a “dream team” of educators and administrators from schools around Rhode Island. With the support of the Highlander Institute, Fuse Fellows will collaborate with districts to assess readiness for blended learning, analyze data, and help disseminate best blended learning practices based on district-specific needs.
The Highlander Institute is a non-profit community of educators and professionals working to improve the educational experience of all learners. Highlander Institute’s mission through Fuse RI is to support the strategic use of technology and data to increase personalization, engagement, and the development of essential skills for students across our state.
As hardware and software become more present in Rhode Island classrooms, educators are searching for efficient ways to identify and implement high-tech practices that have the greatest potential for impact.
